Sorry to say this, but I will be discontinuing this fic for a couple reasons. I've thought hard about this during the fic's hiatus, and I'm sorry to say I've come to the decision that this is what's best for me.
There are a few reasons:
- The biggest being how Matt Realsworld treats the fandom, especially with his most recent post about flagging/striking/taking down fan works. While I don't make money from my writings, it's more the principle than anything. Who knows how far Matt will take it next time.
- The second biggest being the actions of Edd before his death. This is more so a theory than anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if Matt's recent actions were a way to drown out the surfacing allegations of grooming against Edd and the evidence.
- My passion for Eddsworld has been pretty strong over the last 5 years, only really waning for a short period earlier this year. While that in and of itself isn't a problem, it's just that I end up getting way more burnt out doing ANYTHING Eddsworld related way easier as of late. This is likely why I went from posting twice the first week to putting it off for the other two chapters, then taking a hiatus.
- Things IRL are settling down again, and I really should focus more on my life outside of Eddsworld. Like working on my big projects and work and the like.
I'm sorry for those who enjoyed this fic, if you want to know the big reveal, you can read further. I just ask that no one attempt to "pick up where I left off" on this AU, as I can promise, you still won't have the full picture and can't complete it as intended. If someone wants to make a spin off of this AU, they are free to do so, just don't use my designs.
The Tord you've met so far in the story, isn't Tord. That's why Matt was so confused. Matt doesn't recognize Tord, so he certainly won't recognize "Tord". It was the Russian accent that clued Matt in on this. Matt remembers Tord's voice, just not his face. Meanwhile Tom and Edd didn't clue into the change in accent. "Tord" speaking Russian however, that wasn't a clue because Tord could also speak Russian alongside his native Norwegian.
Where is Tord? He's trapped in a concrete room in the RA base, "Tord" being the RL. RL stole Tord's identity for one big reason, to help hide from interpole. He moved in with the guys as part of his attempt to hide. Tom found out about RL's "job working tech", so RL invited all three to the RL base, initially saying that it's just out of the country and they'd need to take a plane. RL used a smaller private plane to take them to a large compound out in international waters, it looks almost like a GIANT oil platform mixed with a city.
RL then arrests the three and takes them to a holding cell for processing, Edd however manages to fling himself over the edge of the platform. Which leaves the others to believe that he died, Edd did not in fact die, he was rescued from the water a few miles away and makes it his life mission to be as big of a thorn in "Tord's" side as possible. The three still believe Tord and RL are the same person, as they are never allowed into the area where Tord is being held.
Btw, Tord has a low ponytail that goes down to his waist, you just can't see it in this as it's front facing. He's also missing an eye due to a fight with RL. His prosthetics are due to "punishments", and his tongue and vocal cords are damaged.
